Take the curve to the right at the Selvatica sign; from this point you have to drive for 19 kilometers (12 miles) and then follow the signs on the right into the Selvatica park. Parking in the park will be indicated and will be small niches for one car carved out of the jungle.

Questions about the tour

What should I bring on the tour?
Light clothing is recommended. Also bring sunglasses and your bathing suit for your swim in the cenote and a towel if you want too. See question below regarding sun tan lotion and insect repellant.

What about sun tan lotion and insect repellant?
In the interest of keeping the cenote clean and pure we only allow biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellent. DO NOT put on regular sun tan lotion or insect repellant BEFORE your cenote swim. After the cenote swim please feel free to put on sun tan lotion or insect repellant. If you feel you are sensitive to the sun then please dress accordingly or feel free to use sun tan lotion if you DO NOT plan to go for a refreshing swim in the cenote.

What is the maximum weight to do the Zip line?

How old does a child need to be to be able to go on the zip lines?
Children as young as 3 can go on the zip line when “tethered” to one of our guides.

How old does a child need to be to go alone and not be tethered to a guide?
Children must be 8 to go alone and un-accompanied by a guide.

Do I need extra cash?
You only need extra cash for extra refreshments and souvenirs.

What kind of souvenirs are there?
You will be able to buy caps and t-shirts; by the way some are really cool.

How many guides are there?
The number of guides depends on the size of the group. Generally there are 8 guides in the zip line area and 3 guides in the cenotes.

Is there food?
Yes, a light lunch is served which consists of grilled chicken, rice and beans.

How high are the zip lines above the jungle floor?
The highest platform is 65 feet (20 meters) above the jungle floor. The average platform takeoff height is 50 feet.

How much climbing (up or down) is involved in the zip line tour?
The climbing involved if for you to gain altitude to depart on the first zip line. Then as you go from zip line tower to zip line tower you will be climbing some steps again to gain height.

Will we see wild animals?
Yes with luck you will see jungle birds including parrots, spider monkeys, white tailed deer and other local jungle animals.

Are the Zip lines safe?
The zip lines are extremely safe as all the equipment and the zip lines themselves are designed to carry several times the weight they actually carry.

After the tour do we get to buy Selvatica souvenirs?

What tours are suitable for groups?
We have very limited availability on the Zip and Segway Tour and the Corona Rally. These two activities are not recommended for groups because of the limited availability
The best group activity is the Selvatica Extreme Canopy Adventure.

I have a group but we were advised not to book early because of the weather?
We recommend that you book as far in advance as possible. Do not wait until you get to Cancun or you probably will not get to go as we do sell out, particularly if you have a group.
Regarding the weather. We have all weather tours and a little rain does not slow us down.

I am interested only in zip lines - no transportation (we have a car) -no lunch. Is it possible to just book the zip lines and cenote swim?
We do have a zip line tour without transportation. However we do not have a zip line tour without lunch. The cenote is included in the tour.

Our flight leaves Cancun at 4:30pm. We were hoping to do the early morning tour before we leave. Is it possible to be picked up at our hotel and dropped off at the airport? If so, can we store our luggage?
We do not recommend that you try to do our tour on the day of arrival or on the day of departure. If anything goes wrong you have a huge problem. Storing of your luggage is not a problem, but if there is any unexpected delay you have a problem. We cannot drop you at the airport.

We have our own rental car and I need your address!
When you reserve we will send you a detailed map. Also there is a map located on the website.
Click here to see the map.

What is your slowest day of the week, less people is better for us?
We are fortunate in that our tour is so popular we are going out full most days. There is not really one day better than the other but Saturday as it is a day that people arrive and leave Cancun at times is less busy.

Which tour is best for 2 kids 9 and 11 and a little shy of danger?
Never at any time will your children be in any danger. As the zip lines are a standard part of all the tours it really is up to you.
The regular zip line tour is generally a good place to start.

If we have our own transportation, where does tour leave from?
If you have your own transportation please click on the map and make a copy after you make your reservation and we will see you at the park which is where you will depart on the tour. Click here for the map.

I was curious about how much drinking of alcoholic beverages there is on the tours. We don't really want to deal with a group of drunks!
There is no drinking on the tours. We do have a bar for a drink after the tour if you desire to buy one, but you will not be dealing with people drinking on our tours.

Is the area where the Selvatica park is located safe?
The journey through the Mexican Yucatan Jungle to get to the Selvatica Park is quite safe as you will travel on main roads except for the last 2 miles.
You must remember that we pick you up at your hotel outside the lobby – transport you to the park, which is totally private, then transport you back to the lobby of your hotel. You are never left alone or are you placed in harms way.

Questions about Reservations and Cancellations

What happens once I reserve?
Once you send in a reservation with your credit card we will charge your card the amount of the tour. Then we will send you a coupon which you will print and bring with you to be given to the driver at the time of pickup. The coupon is your proof of purchase and will have a unique confirmation number and coupon number on it and an emergency phone number to call if something goes wrong.

How will the charge read on my credit card?
The charge will be from Vista Travel and Tour in McAllen, Texas. We do our charging in the USA so that you do not have to pay an extra 3% “exchange rate differential fee.” All credit cards have started charging a fee for credit card charges done outside the home country of the card holder. So to save you money we do our charging in the USA.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel any tour up to 24 hours before departure and only pay a 5% administrative processing fee. If the trip is cancelled because the port is closed or due to bad weather then you will receive a 100% refund. Please remember we do not accept cancellations from anyone but the person that made the reservation. This is to protect you.

What if I want to change the date of the trip?
No problem, we will gladly move any trip for you to a different day, space permitting, as long as you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice. There is no fee for changes.

Is it possible to make my reservation when I get to Cancun?
Yes. We do recommend you make all your tour your reservations as far in advance as possible so that you are sure to what you want, when you want it. During the high season from January to August there are many times we have no availability 2-3 days in advance.
To reserve once you arrive in Cancun call us at 898-4312 or if you are outside Cancun call us at 01-998-898-4312. If you have a U.S. cell phone you may call 1-800-860-5917.

We now have more people that want to go. What do we do?
To reserve space for more people once you arrive in Cancun call us at 898-4312 or if you are outside Cancun call us at 01-998-898-4312. If you have a U.S. cell phone, or are still in the states, you may call 1-800-860-5917. We will do our best to accommodate your other guests. Space permitting, no problem, or we will make recommendations of another day when we can accommodate all your guests.
