Chris Eldridge / Easton, Massachusetts At 47 years of age, I came to this experience with a great deal of trepidation. As a mom, overweight, and feeling pretty dumpy, I followed my husband and kids without telling them I was terrified of heights. NO MATTER!!! This was the catalyst I needed to find my happy place. I felt safe, unhurried, and affirmed by the most incredible staff ever. Not only were these guys professional at running the zip lines, many were also EMTS. One man in particular saw my fear, and stopped the progress on the zip lines and just slowed me down to breathe. No one has ever done that for me save the nurses when I had kids. I LOVED IT!!! Once I could relax, the trip in the canopy made me feel like my heavy body was weightless. It was incredible to see the canopy, and to master my fear. We also took the quads out and swam in the cenote, any of which would have provided great fun. What was most incredible was when I returned to the home base, all of the staff hugged and cheered me on for meeting my challenge. They were entirely sincere, and will be in my heart forever. This is no tourist trap. It is perhaps the most perfectly run activity I have ever had the pleasure to participate in. Fear not, these people are awesome, genuine, caring and fun. My family loved the experience, but for me, it changed my life. I am still wearing the bracelet they gave me when we finished. Just so you'll know, these folks run the operation soup to nuts. The guides are your guides, waiters, etc. It is so close knit and well run you are promised to feel that the experience is worth going to over and over. I can't say enough, especially if you are like I felt. I absolutely recommend this experience to EVERYONE, especially if you are feeling down. These folks are like angels on zip lines. |

Sandy / Sacramento, California We were picked up at the resort and transported by Rich to the best adventure around. We were greeted by a friendly upbeat staff and it just got better from there. It was a family vacation and I had my wife, my 7 year old boy and my 4 year old girl with me. The staff worked so well with my kids and that allowed my wife and I to enjoy it even more. The whole staff made it a great trip for all of us and the pictures they took will be cherished forever. I will do this again and again. It will be a part of each trip to Mexico. Angela / Cayman I flew through (ziplined) through the air, and relaxed at the waterfall at the cenote. Pure Heaven! The guides were experienced (very strict on safety) and funny! I am (or was) afraid of heights, but the crew made me feel safe, always laughing, and asking if I was alright. The facilities were just gorgeous and clean. There was a truck ride to the cenote (waterfall), which was bumpy, but I thought it was fun, again because the guides were always making jokes! We got a free comedy show, lol. At the end we were shown our video over a fantastic local meal (compliments to our chef!). There was a good selection of souvenirs, t-shirts, caps, videos and pictures available for our scrapbooks. The prices were affordable. If you do nothing else while on vacation, do this tour. I will definitely do this again, it was value for my money, and my sides are still hurting from all the laughing. Laurie / Brooklyn, New York, NY My boyfriend and I went on Valentine's Day. He'd never been on a zipline before, is afraid of heights and doesn't really swim...not someone you would think would want to go to Selvatica. But he did. I've been an adventurer most of my life and have been on many ziplines. While fun, I generally think they are too much money for too little experience...at least for me. But, I let my boyfriend talk me into the Selvatica adventure. I'm so glad he did. We had a blast! The staff and guides were helpful, funny and encouraging. And they didn't make my boyfriend feel unmanly when he hesitated jumping into the cenote. This is the best zipline I've ever been on - they keep everyone moving through by using multiple guides across the route, so you are not standing around waiting for your entire group to move through. There focus on safety is astonishing and appreciated. They have a few short zips to start and get folks comfortable, then the other zips are all long and fun. Final evaluation: a totally great value for your money, and an awesome good time. Problem: what happens when we want to go on another adventure and nothing else lives up to Selvatica? Hugh Carolyn / Atlanta, Georgia My family did the extreme canopy tour on January 15th. I have two girls, aged 5 and 10. At the time, my littlest, affectionately referred to by the wonderful Selvatica staff as "la bambina," was still 4. This experience cannot be likened to anything else I've done - it's in a class all its own. My husband and I had done ziplines before - Ziptrek in Whistler, BC - but the ziplines are really only one element of your Selvatica trip. The bus ride, the great orientation, the efficient set up to get everyone proper equipment, the surprise Tarzan swing, the army truck ride, the cenote swim, and the delicious dinner accompanied by your professional photos on an iPad and video - they have given thought and attention to every detail. A special word about the staff - Hippie and "Jungle Boy" were just wonderful with my littlest. They accompanied her on the zipline just ahead of me and they were like big brothers to her. Very protective but also fun loving. It would be impossible to recommend this experience more highly. We look forward to coming back and trying one of their other tours! Laura Hopp / Hoffman Estates, Illinois Wow, what a great day spent with my family and my new "jungle family"! My husband and I have been zip lining before in Puerta Vallerta several years ago, but spending the day at Selvatica with my three kids, 19, 16, & 7 and the awesome guides, staff and cooks there in Canun was so much better than my previous experience! The guides were so much fun and were absolutely amazing with my little daughter! Thank you for that! No matter the age, the guides with take care of you to guarantee the best day ever! It was so much fun to have the opportunity to "Do it upside down", watching my family on the tarzan swing and the beautiful and refreshing Cenote is more than worth a day of your vacation!!! The cost compared to other companies with comparable, but I do not think I could even begin to put a price tag on the experience! The food was delicious, the service was great, the ease of viewing our photos and video was fantastic. Both my husband and I were pleasantly please at the cost for out photo cd and dvd and are happy to have these memories to share with our kids for a very long time! David, Mike, Jungle Boy, Carlos and all the guides were wonderful! You guys are certainly doing something right there! Keep up the great work and all the craziness of being citizens of the jungle! Marg Griffith / Lorain, Ohio My husband and I were debating on this company and another rival company. So glad we decided on this company and would return again and again! As soon as we arrived we were greeted and told exactly what to expect on our journey. What really set this company apart was their outstanding customer service!! The guides were with us from the very start to the very end. While we were eating our delicious lunch the guides were the ones of offer refills and offer to take our plate away when we were finished. Another aspect we were thrilled with was the safety measures they took while on the trip. Very attentive to our needs and wants. One more HUGE plus, is they all spoke english and we could understand them!!! |
