What can you expect to see at Selvatica Cancun? Green, green, green as far as the eye can see! In the jungle you’ll find mahogany, red cedar, cacao, coconut palms and the majestic ceiba tree, ferns and lush exotic plants all around!Discover the chechen and chaca trees, one is toxic and the other is the cure and they are always found side by side.
Be sure to ask your guides to share the legend of how two Mayan warriors, brothers Kinich and Tizic, were transformed from men to these opposing trees for eternity! Hearing ancient Mayan tales passed down for generations, now that is a true jungle experience.
The jungle is home to a wide variety of tropical animals and birds, close your eyes and just listen. Hear the unique call of the mot mot bird as they lead you to the Selvatica Cancun cenote, the rustle of coatis (kind of like jungle raccoons) burrowing through the brush, and if you are lucky you may even spot one of the mischievous monkeys that call the jungle home.
The endangered jaguar leaves traces of its nocturnal visits to Selvatica, seeing a jaguar footprint is an exciting moment for all of us!
